Inside Only About
Inside Only Classes
The University of Oregon’s Prison Education Program began because of Inside-Out classes, and for the first 10 years of the UO’s engagement in prison education we only offered Inside-Out classes. However, our ACE group of leaders at OSP suggested different formats and a broader range of topics and instructors than were available through Inside-Out classes alone. We began to add new classes in new formats, including “reading” classes that did not involve in-person meetings. This served us well when Covid restrictions shut down most college-level education.
We offer:
– In person (only inside students)
– Packets or “reading” classes with no in-person meetings
– Hybrid classes where the bulk of the coursework is done remotely but with some in-person class sessions so the instructor can introduce course concepts and students can ask questions about the assignments.
Our current and past classes are listed in the courses tab.
